Just a Saturday afternoon ride

Nothing big to report from yesterday’s ride. It was what is known as an Endurance Miles ride (wattage between 117 and 190 watts). That was exactly what it was and I loved it!

The weather was in the upper 60s though it was rather humid. The clouds kept the sun from getting too hot. At the same time, the sun was popping out to keep things from getting too depressing!

Not this time... no climbing.

I aimed to get out in TR for some rolling terrain to enjoy. This would bring me by Paris Mountain. I wasn’t even tempted to turn up Altamont Road.

It felt good to just be out spinning. For most of the time I was over 90 rpm and ended up around 85 rpm including the several “0 rpm” minutes when I stopped to take pictures. The above picture was at the farthest point out.

Coming back in on the Swamp Rabbit Trail

Coming back toward town, I jumped on the SRT. I didn’t stay there for too long. With the nice weather the trail was crowded. Now, granted, you don’t see them in this picture… but — trust me — they were there!

Nearing downtown and nearly home

I got off the trail to escape the crowd and found my way to Pete Hollis. Just outside downtown I turned onto Park Ave. and headed toward my neighborhood. The sun continued to pop in and out and the temperatures were in the 70s.

It is nice to get near my home. I can ride from the Greenville County Historical Museum to my home about two miles away with bicycle lanes the whole route. It was just one more reason to bring a smile to my face.

Come to think of it… the whole ride was one big smile!
